We have been in Boston for a teacher recruiting fair. We had a few teaching offers to mull over so before we made our big decision we went to a Bruins hockey game to clear our heads. It was a great game. The Canucks won in a shootout. After much thought, we have decided to move onto the International School of Bangkok. We have a few more days of R&R before we head back to Dakar. (If the Bruins would have won, we were going to move to the middle east....just joking.)

Boston/Job Search
Carole and I will leave for Boston on Wednesday night and will attend two job fairs. Time to decide our new country, city and school.
Hot, moderate or cold climate-we have no idea.........
Our sights are set on Asia, Europe and the Middle East.......... Probably done for Africa for now, and will hold south America for the next time we go looking.
We've been there done that in Japan, so likely not!
Muscat, Budapest, Shanghai, Bangkok, Seoul, Dubai, Moscow, Singapore-it's a crap shoot!!!
Jack and Adam will stay in Dakar with our very good and trustworthy friends.
We'll be gone from February 3 (midnight) until February 12th.
Should you need to reach us we'll be staying at the following hotels:
February 4-7 Hyatt Regency Cambridge (617)-492-1234
February 7-11 The Westin Copley Place, Boston (617)-262-9600
Exciting times ahead................

Dave's Birthday
This year we were actually still on vacation for Dave's birthday! He started his special day with a round of golf at an amazing course high in the Madeira hills. I believe he shot 45 (his age) on the first 9. Then after a lazy afternoon, we went to a movie (Old Dogs...) and out for dinner. Chips and beer (Super Bock) would have made a perfect gift for Dave but the boys had fun in the supermarket picking out special things for him instead. Gummy bears, toblerone chocolate, cashews, and a special coffee mug.

Arrived back to Dakar safely
Our flights from Madeira to Lisbon and Lisbon to Dakar were great. As we had a layover in Lisbon for 5 hours, we even made a trip to the Hard Rock Cafe once again for more hot wings.
We made record time getting through the Dakar airport, as one of my volleyball captain's mom (Portugal Drug Enforcement) came and found us in the huge crowd and expedited us right to the front, without even going through immigration.
A very nice plus to the usual terrible Dakar airport experience!!
Thanks Goncalo!
Glad to be home. Now off to bed.......
